I have made a couple of changes to my race schedule for 2010.
First, I was scheduled to run in the 50 km version of the Dirty Duo in North Vancouver next month. However I have decided to change that to the 25 km event. The reason for the change is that I did not want to lose an entire week of Ironman training which would be required after completing a 50 km race. This seems especially important since I will only have 1 month of peak volume training left to me prior to Ironman St. George.
The other change is that the North Face Challenge event in Bellingham WA has been cancelled this year. This is a huge disappointment to me as I love that course and it is only a 1 hour drive from home. The good news is that my time in last years Boston Marathon was good enough for me to earn a guaranteed entry into this years NYC ING Marathon. So I have traded a 50 km trail event for a 42 km run through one of the worlds most populous cities. Hmm. I think I will have to look around for a trail race for October. I need my trail racing fix.

NYC, here you come! Very kewl!
I thought you were doing Oceanside but I guess not. I’m disappointed as I was hoping to see you there and say hi. Oh well. There is a very, very, very slim chance I will go to St. George to cheer. Will let you know!
I would very much have liked to have done Oceanside again this year but it’s just not in the budget. Too bad because I love to ride that bike course (and it would have been great to run into you again).
Good luck in Oceanside and I look forward to reading your race report.
ps – you need to do Vineman 70.3 sometime. It’s beautiful, not so hard and really fun because it’s in the wine country!
Thanks for the tip Pamela. The Vineman is certainly on my list of “to do” races. Perhaps next year.
