Only a couple days out from race day and I am really feeling like crap. I have a sore throat and some kind of nasty sinus issues going on (I will spare you those gory details). Then yesterday my left knee starting aching all of a sudden. How bizarre.
Why do these things happen during the taper before a big race? Is it because our bodies are worn out from all of the months of pre-race training? Or is it that our bodies are going into shock from the lack of excersize during the taper period? Not sure. However things better resolve by Friday or I won’t be racing in The North Face Challenge on Saturday. This weekend might turn out to be nothing more but an early Christmas shopping trip in SFO. Sigh…

[...] StudioYVR has a taper worm. Ha! Not what you think… [...]
Trust the training, trust the taper.
You will be in fine form Saturday morning, Don. And you will race well.
The shopping will have to wait until after you’re done racing.
I somehow missed the fact that you will be in the ‘hood! I have a race in the east bay that day, too. Will you be around long?
Sleeeeep… lots of sleep.
Oh no! I hope you feel much better soon buddy
*hugs*
Good luck, Don. Hope you’re feeling better. Looking forward to reading the race report and how you conquered the 50 km.
